Automation is valuable when it removes predictable repetition, delays or avoidable errors. It is less useful when a manual step exists because the situation needs judgement, reassurance or accountability.
A person reviewing an unusual enquiry may be the correct design. A person copying the same approved data between three systems probably is not. The distinction matters because automating every visible manual action can remove useful control while leaving the underlying process unclear.
Improve the workflow first. Keep deliberate human decisions where they add value and automate the repetition around them.
